Callum Smith happy to wait on Badou Jack, James DeGale winner

British super-middleweight Callum Smith says that he is happy to remain patient to face the winner of the unification clash between Badou Jack and James DeGale.

British super-middleweight Callum Smith has said that he remains in a good position despite having to wait for his opportunity to fight for a world title.

Smith is currently the mandatory challenger for Badou Jack's WBC crown but the current champion will face IBF title holder James DeGale in a unification clash in January.

However, despite the fact that a year would have passed by the time he gets his opportunity, the Liverpudlian is happy to bide his time before facing either Jack - who is represented by Mayweather Promotions - or DeGale.

The 26-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I'm in a good position and I know after this fight, then my next fight will be for two world titles. So I'll kill two birds with one stone.

"I know it will be the next fight. They will not be allowed to have another fight in between, so it shouldn't be too long."

Smith is currently unbeaten in 21 fights in the professional ranks.
