Eddie Jones cautious of "confrontational" France

England boss Eddie Jones describes his side's next Six Nations opponents France as "confrontational" and "physical".

Eddie Jones has warned his England players to be wary of France's 'physical and confrontational' approach when locking horns in the Six Nations next month.

The Red Rose will attempt to recover from their 25-13 defeat at the hands of Scotland when they travel to the Stade de France on March 10.

England head coach Jones, who has seen his side lose just two of 26 Tests since taking charge in 2015, insists that lessons have been learned ahead of the make-or-break showdown in Paris.

"Under [Jacques] Brunel they are showing certain characteristics. They've got a massive forward pack and Mathieu Bastareaud in the backs - they have an exciting back three," he told Sky Sports News.

"It's going to be confrontational, it's going to be physical. They're going to want to play the game with hand-to-hand combat. We're going to have to play smart against them.

"We've identified key things we need to fix and we've already started working on those in our small groups. Our next development as a team is being able to fix things quicker on the field. That's very hard to do but we're definitely moving in the right direction."

France recorded their first win under Brunel when they defeated Italy 34-17 in Marseille last Friday.
