Sports Mole looks at the leading goalscorers in European leagues this calendar year, with Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres comfortably leading the way.

Harry Kane has moved up to second in the list of highest scorers in European leagues this calendar year courtesy of his brace for Bayern Munich against Union Berlin on Saturday.

The prolific England international had a direct hand in all three of his side's goals in their 3-0 triumph, scoring twice and setting up the other to take his Bundesliga tallies for the season to 11 goals and seven assists in just nine appearances - an incredible average of two goal involvements per game.

In terms of goals alone, Kane now has 26 in as many league games for Bayern in 2024, lifting him above Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland in the list of Europe's deadliest forwards.

However, he is still some way short of Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, who continued his remarkable 2024-25 form on Friday night by plundering four goals in a 5-1 triumph over Estrela.

That was Sporting's first match since the confirmation that Ruben Amorim will be taking over as Manchester United manager, and with a staggering 34 league goals in 29 outings this year, it is easy to see why the Red Devils have also been linked with signing Gyokeres from the Portuguese outfit.

Some other notable names also make up the leading European scorers in 2024, and here Sports Mole counts you through the top 10 from the 15 biggest leagues on the continent.
