David Luiz insists that Chelsea are desperate to end a run of three defeats in major finals this season in tomorrow night's Europa League decider against Benfica.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has declared that he is desperate to end this season with silverware after a campaign full of disappointment in cup competitions.

The Blues have lost three finals in a marathon campaign, including defeats in the Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Luiz comes up against his former club Benfica in tomorrow night's Europa League final and has insisted that he is hungry for success in the competition.

He told The Mirror: "I have lost three finals this year, which means now is the time to win!

"For me, the Europea League is one more big title. Always I say when you win something and you finish you are hungry again. Last year, I ate beef. Now I have chicken, but I'm still hungry again and want to win more titles.

"It will be a difficult game. A special day for me, special day for my teammates. I think it will be a strong game for me. It will be a game with a lot of emotion. I just want to win."

The Brazilian is likely to start the match in central defence for Rafael Benitez's side, with captain John Terry struggling for fitness after taking a knock last weekend.
