Jorge Jesus says that Benfica did not deserve to lose last night's Europa League final against Chelsea.

Benfica coach Jorge Jesus believes that his team deserved to beat Chelsea in last night's Europa League final.

The game looked to be heading into extra time after Fernando Torres's opener was cancelled out by Oscar Cardozo's penalty kick.

However, a last-gasp header from Branislav Ivanovic sealed a 2-1 win for the Blues in Amsterdam.

Jesus said that the result was unfair, insisting that it should have been Aguias lifting the trophy.

"They were here two great teams, but Benfica was the best for most of the match," Sky Sports News quotes the 58-year-old as saying. "At times we lacked that bit of luck we deserved.

"We played an excellent game of football again, but we have again been penalised in a game where the only winner could be Benfica. It is difficult to say anything about the game, football is not logical.

"But I must congratulate everyone at Benfica, the Portuguese fans, the Benfica fans, they deserved to see us win this trophy."

Chelsea have now completed a treble of European trophies having previously won the Champions League and Cup Winners' Cup titles.
