Filming on the fourth series of ITV's acclaimed crime drama The Bay has begun in Morecambe.
Having taken over as CID's family liaison officer in the last series, Marsha Thomason will be back as DS Jenn Townsend for a new case that sees a young mother of four die in what appears to be a targeted attack.
Also returning for the new run of six episodes are Daniel Ryan as Tony Manning, Thomas Law as Eddie Martin, Erin Shanagher as Karen Hobson and Andrew Dowbiggin as James Clarke.
"The Bay continues to captivate viewers and is a hugely successful drama for ITV, both on linear transmission and the ITV Hub," said Polly Hill, ITV's head of drama.
"Marsha Thomason's casting in the last series was inspired, and (creator) Daragh Carville and the Tall Story Pictures team once again deliver a plot full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing to the end. Whilst all set again on the dramatic coastline of Morecambe, with its glorious sea and skyscapes."
The new series is expected to air on ITV early next year.
