Stephen Bear slammed for fake pregnancy scan announcement

Stephen Bear courts fresh controversy by claiming that he is having twins and using someone else's pregnancy scan photo.

Reality star Stephen Bear has courted fresh controversy by posting a fake baby scan on social media to claim that he is having twins.

The 31-year-old was arrested and bailed last month after an ex-girlfriend alleged that he had filmed them having sex without her permission and shared the footage, charges he denies.

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner has also been spotted breaking quarantine rules several times and has received criticism for his relationship with 18-year-old Tia McAlister.

In a post on Twitter, Bear shared a picture of a pregnancy scan showing baby twins alongside the message: "Wasn't expecting 2. Think it's time I should I grow up."

Some followers were quick to point out that the picture in question could easily be found on Google Images, and in a YouTube video later on Monday Bear admitted to having posted the scan - of someone else's children - as "a laugh".

"Happy Monday everyone, or should I say mix it up Monday?" he said in the video. "I thought I'd do a little tweet, just having a laugh. I got this picture on Google, like a picture of twins. I thought I'd lighten up everyone's mood today.

"I just feel like you can't have jokes any more in this society. I don't know if it's just Twitter, but on YouTube everyone seems a lot more fun.

"I go on Twitter and everyone's so angry, so miserable, they're so annoyed I've done a tweet pretending to have twins. Even though I do want twins. I'm curious to see what the public would think if I did have babies."

Bear remains on bail until tomorrow (February 10).
