Phillip Schofield reveals The Cube casting for new contestants

Phillip Schofield shares application details for the new series of The Cube, suggesting that he is in line to return as host.

Phillip Schofield has shared application details for the next series of The Cube, suggesting that he is in line to return as host.

ITV has given the go-ahead to a new run of the skill-based gameshow, five years after it last aired, and will be raising the stakes with an increased prize fund.

Schofield served as host of the show for nine series between 2009 and 2015 and it was initially unclear whether he would be back for the reboot, which is expected to air later this year.

With applications for contestants now having opened, Schofield shared the details on Instagram Stories alongside the message: "Yes! Game on! Can you beat the Cube?"

The casting call reveals that the new series will be filmed in London between August 10 and 14, with only members of the same household or coronavirus support bubble allowed to apply.
