Malcolm in the Middle cast to reunite for 20th anniversary

Bryan Cranston reveals that the cast of Malcolm in the Middle will reunite over Zoom this weekend.

Bryan Cranston has revealed that the cast of Malcolm in the Middle will reunite over Zoom this weekend to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary.

The comedy ran for seven seasons between 2000 and 2006 and featured Cranston as Hal, father to four - eventually five - boys and husband of long-suffering Lois (Jane Kaczmarek).

Frankie Muniz played the titular character Malcolm, with Justin Berfield, Erik Per Sullivan and Christopher Masterson starring as his brothers.

The virtual reunion will see the cast read the script of the pilot episode, more than 20 years after it was first shown.

"Here we are... all are stuck in this five months of quarantine!" Cranston wrote on Instagram. "Can you imagine how Hal would have gone bonkers on #MalcolmintheMiddle if he had to stay inside with his five knuckle-headed boys?! Makes me smile to think about that.

"So, if you've been missing some silliness in your life, check us out this Saturday night 8/8 for a 20th anniversary celebration of the show's premiere.

"The cast is back!! This time we're reading the pilot episode on Zoom."

The event is being staged in support of show creator Linwood Boomer's charity Healing California.
