Forces' Sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn has passed away at the age of 103, her family have confirmed.
The veteran entertainer was credited for raising troops' morale during World War II with songs including 'We'll Meet Again' and 'The White Cliffs of Dover'.
Earlier this year, shortly after celebrating her 103rd birthday, Lynn shared a message of hope amid the coronavirus pandemic, thanking health workers for their "wonderful" service.
Confirming her death earlier today, a family statement read: "The family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of Britain's best-loved entertainers at the age of 103.
"Dame Vera Lynn, who lived in Ditchling, East Sussex, passed away earlier today, 18 June 2020, surrounded by her close family."
