New Bond movie No Time To Die 'to have £10 million premiere'
MGM is reportedly planning to spend £10 million on the London premiere event for Daniel Craig's final James Bond movie No Time To Die.

MGM is reportedly planning to spend £10 million on a huge premiere event for the much-delayed new James Bond movie No Time To Die.

The film - Daniel Craig's final outing as 007 - was postponed from its original November 2019 release date multiple times for production reasons and the coronavirus pandemic, but is now due for release on September 30 in the UK and October 8 in the rest of the world.

According to The Mirror, MGM is planning to pull out all of the stops for the movie's release and will aim to make a statement with a star-studded global premiere in London.

"They think they can pull off the biggest in-person premiere of the post-pandemic era, and have already put aside a whopping £10 million for an event in England that will signal the return of these kinds of flashy movie launches that everybody's been missing for the last year," a source told the newspaper.

"They are looking at the biggest venues in London, starting with Wembley and going down from there, and have enquired about the Staples Center in Los Angeles for a US premiere.

"MGM and the Bond team have never liked the idea of launching this movie without a red carpet event, which is one of the many reasons they've rolled with all the delays."

Indoor cinemas in the UK currently remain closed, although they are permitted to reopen from May 17 as part of the UK's routemap out of lockdown.
