EastEnders will include a reference to last night's Euro 2020 final, it has been confirmed.
Having reached the final of a major tournament for the first time in 55 years, England fell agonisingly short at Wembley, losing out to Italy in a tense penalty shootout.
In a scene shot only this morning for broadcast tonight, Walford residents Kim (Tameka Empson), Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) will "give a nod" to the big game.
Exec producer Jon Sen said: "Although it's only a small scene, with England's performance in the Euro's capturing the hearts of the nation over the past month it's only right that the residents of Walford would be talking about last night's historical match."
The scene will feature in tonight's episode, airing at 8.05pm on BBC One, while the iPlayer version of the episode will be updated to include the new scene afterwards.
