Fady Elsayed has emerged as a surprise new contender to replace Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor on Doctor Who.
Whittaker will leave the long-running sci-fi show later this year after four years in the iconic role, with Russell T Davies returning as the new showrunner alongside a new Doctor.
According to The Sun, 28-year-old actor Elsayed - star of 2016 Who spinoff Class - has now become the firm favourite to replace Whittaker.
Class only ran for one series on BBC Three, but Elsayed has since reprised his role as high school student Ram in multiple audio plays for Big Finish and is a self-declared "huge, huge fan" of Doctor Who.
Confirmation of the new Doctor is expected in the coming weeks, with filming of their first scenes expected to take place in April.
