Pop-up TV channel dedicated to John Lennon to launch next week

A pop-up TV channel dedicated to John Lennon is to launch next week to mark what would have been the music legend's 80th birthday.

A pop-up TV channel dedicated to John Lennon and the Beatles will launch next week to mark what would have been the legendary musician's 80th birthday.

'LENNON80' will go live next Friday, October 9 and be on air for a week in place of the Now 80s music TV channel.

A description of the channel reads: "On his 80th birthday - a 7 day celebration of all things John Lennon. With classic archive shows (one of them long lost), and those Lennon & Beatles tracks that made him one of the world's greatest."

LENNON80 will be available on channel 371 on Sky, Freeview channel 83 and Virgin channel 346.

A number of broadcasters, including Sky and the BBC, are planning special Lennon-themed programming for this Autumn to not only mark his birthday but also the 40th anniversary of his murder in New York.
